Catherine Slayton
Catherine is a Michigan State University Extension 4-H Program Coordinator in Genesee County. She has worked in this capacity since November 2023.
In this role, Catherine provides leadership and management of local 4-H programs, volunteers, and youth participants in Genesee County with a primary focus on the urban area of Flint. She promotes and strengthens the Genesee County 4-H program by developing programs and partnerships, promoting and evaluating 4-H programs, and recruiting and training volunteers.
Prior to joining MSU Extension, Catherine held positions in local public schools and a non-profit organization which equipped her with valuable skills, aligning well with the positive youth development approach of the 4-H program. She has a commitment to fostering educational opportunities and personal development for youth in the urban environment.
Catherine holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Michigan Flint. Her academic background, combined with her passion for community development, has positioned her as a valuable asset in fostering positive change and growth in Genesee County.
